Military Schools in Pennsylvania

Military Schools in Pennsylvania

Military schools, whether boarding or day schools, are an alternative to ordinary schools and focus on military values and structure. Although military schools have been known as institutions for children who need extra discipline, some military schools only accept students with no previous discipline issues and good grades. Pennsylvania is home to a few military schools, elementary to college, for boys and girls.

Valley Forge Military Academy & College

Valley Forge Military Academy & College (VFMA & VFMC) relies on five traditional cornerstones, including academic excellence, character development, personal motivation, physical development and leadership. The academy is a boarding and day school for boys grades seven through 12; it also offers postgraduate studies. All entering cadets at VFMA are required to complete a six-week period of training that tests cadets mentally, physically and morally. The college is co-ed and offers associate's degrees in arts, science or business. VFMC offers students an Army ROTC Early Commissioning Program. Both schools offer on- and off-campus activities, intramural sports and special activities.
