How to Reduce Bruising With Herbs

If you seem to get a lot of bruises, and if they take forever to clear up, you might be suffering from poor circulation to and from your heart and brain. Bruises are sometimes called contusions, and they can result from bumping into something, falling or dropping something heavy on a body part. Bruises can be colorful: from blue to green to purple to a darker gray or brown, then to yellow as they begin to heal. Herbs can help to soften the pain and heal your bruise quickly.

Instructions

    1

There are two ways to prepare the herbs in this recipe: either as a tea or as a tincture. A tea will be ready for you to start drinking within minutes, while a tincture requires about one month to brew.

    2

For tea, combine 2 teaspoonfuls of the following herbs in 1 quart of boiling water: ginkgo leaves, hawthorn leaves, flowers and berries, orange slices and rose hips.

    3

Add 1 teaspoonful of rose hips and allow your tea to sit, or steep, for 15 to 20 minutes. Add honey, lemon or sugar before you drink it, if you wish. Strain it and drink one or two cups each day.

    4

To make a tincture using the same herbs, simply grind the herbs and place them in a quart canning jar. Add one handful of raspberries and then fill the jar with brandy. Shake it every day for 1 month, and then strain it and add 2 tbsp. of honey. Take 1/2 teaspoonful once or twice every day.
