For many, adhering to a low-carb diet is a way of life because they know excess carbohydrate intake can cause weight gain and other problems. For those who just look at carbs and gain weight, a low-carb diet is something to consider. The next time you crave a piece of double-fudge chocolate cake or a plate of baked ziti, eat veggies instead. Many vegetables are low in carbohydrates and high in fiber, making them the perfect food for those who are concerned about their weight and health. If youre thinking of putting yourself on a low-carb diet but dont know where to start, why not make yourself a low-carb veggie burger. Not only is this burger easy to make, its healthy and nutritious too. Below are instructions on how to make this flavorful burger with little carbohydrates. Add this to my Recipe Box.

How to Make a Low-Carb Veggie Burger

    Put extra-virgin olive oil in a skillet and saut mushrooms and onions. Spoon mushrooms, onions and olive oil into a large bowl and let cool.

    Add ground oatmeal, spinach, soy protein, Parmesan cheese, egg and black pepper and mix thoroughly.

    Divide mixture into four portions and shape into burgers.

    Place burgers on baking tray and broil for about fifteen minutes or until done, placing a slice of provolone cheese on each burger the last two minutes.

    Spoon a little fat-free salad dressing over each burger if desired and serve.There are approximately eleven grams of carbohydrates in each burger.
