Losing weight can be very difficult. If you're in a hurry because you're facing a special occasion such as a wedding or a class reunion you want to lose the weight as quickly as possible. Fortunately this goal is acheivable with lots of disciplined hard work.

    Start by keeping careful track of exactly what you eat. You will want to consume only a certain number of calories per day. The number of calories you consume will help determine how much weight you can lose. Aim for roughly 1,200 calories per day if you are a woman and 1,500 calories per day if you are a man.

    Add in exercise. Exercise is vitally important in helping you to lose weight quickly. Look for exercise that will help you strengthen your body. Weights are excellent for this purpose. You also want to do other kinds of exercise that will strenghten your heart such as biking and swimming.

    Set a specific goal. One of the keys to quick weight loss is to make sure that you stick with it over a period of time. Decide if you want to spend three months or less focusing on your weight. This should be sufficient time to help you lose weight quickly.

    Drink as much water as possible. Drinking water will help you stay hydrated and help you increase your weight loss. Aim for at least five glasses of day. Consider heating it up to make tea in cold weather and cooling to down with ice in hot weather for a refreshing drink.
