Home Remedy for Gas in Your Chest

Gas build-up in the body is a natural occurrence that happens to everyone. Gas is normally related to indigestion---you ate something that was the cause, or you swallowed large chucks of food and didn't chew them properly. Gas in your chest is uncomfortable and can be painful. You don't have to use over-the-counter medicine. There are some home remedies that can help.

Ginger Powder & Asafetida

    One home remedy for eliminating gas from your chest is to mix 1 tsp. of dried ginger powder, 1 tsp. of asafetida and 1 tsp. of warm water. Mix the dry ingredients first and then add the water. Drink this mixture before going to bed and the gas in your chest will be released overnight. Ginger powder and asafetida are found at health food stores, some grocery stores and online.

Kneeling On Your Knees In Bed

    Kneeling on your knees in bed is a physical home remedy for releasing gas from your chest. To do the exercise, get in your bed and kneel on your knees. Place your buttocks in the air and your head down on the bed or a pillow. The gas in your chest will become dislodge and you will release the gas from your mouth or via flatulence.

Charcoal Capsules

    Purchase a bottle of charcoal capsules and take one or two capsules whenever you experience gas in your chest. The capsules will release the gas within an hour and half. You can also take charcoal capsules before a meal to help reduce gas from forming.

Peach Leaves & Water Mixture

    Peach leaves and water is another home remedy for eliminating gas from your chest. Boil 8 oz. of water on the stove or in the microwave (use a clean microwave-safe container) and then add 2 tbsp. of peach leaves to the water. Stir the leaves around for about 10 to 15 minutes and then drink the mixture. Drink the peach leaf/water mixture three times a day to help eliminate any future gas issues.

Coriander Seeds

    For immediate relief from gas in your chest when you can't make a mixture of ingredients, eat some coriander seeds. Coriander seeds are both an herb and a spice, and are easily found at health food stores, some grocery stores and vitamin stores. The seeds will ease both the gas in your chest and any gas pain you may be experiencing.

Ginger Root Tea

    Drinking a cup of ginger root tea will also ease gas in your chest. Buy one or two ginger roots and grind them into a powder form. Add the grind ginger root to boiling water and drink it as a tea. Add some honey to sweeten the mixture. Drink one to two cups a day to ease the gas and pain in your chest.
