Fast Weight Loss Soup Diet

Soup diets are popular ways to lose weight. They usually do not last longer than one or two weeks, and the mainstay of the diet is soup, which can be easily prepared in advance and thus makes following the diet uncomplicated. The most famous and easy to follow soup diet is the cabbage soup diet. The cabbage soup diet is a low-fat, low-carbohydrate diet lasts only seven days, and you can eat more than cabbage soup while you are following it.

Soup Recipe

    Cook your soup. It's better to make a big batch at the beginning of the week than to keep making small batches. You can change the vegetables used in the soup to suit your own tastes, but the general recipe is 1/2 head of cabbage, 1 bunch of chopped celery, 3 chopped carrots, 2 green peppers, 6 scallions, 1 or 2 cubes of your favorite bouillon, tomatoes or a can of tomato paste or V8, and spices to taste. Avoid putting in any starchy vegetables like potatoes. Put everything into a big soup pot, add 12 cups of water, and then cook until all the vegetables are soft.

Seven Day Plan

    Eat the cabbage soup every day. In addition, there are other foods you can add, according to which day of the diet you are on. There is a standard set of allowable foods for each day, and switching is discouraged.

    Day 1: Eat your soup and any fruit you like, except bananas. You can eat as much as you want on this day. Also, be sure to consume enough water and non-caloric beverages.

    Day 2: Eat the cabbage soup and all the non-starchy, low-calorie vegetables you like. You are allowed a baked potato on this day, as long as there is only a small amount of butter added.

    Day 3: Mix the fruits and vegetables from the previous two days. Eat your soup, too.

    Day 4: Eat your soup and no more than 8 bananas. You can also drink up to two glasses of skim milk.

    Day 5: Eat 20 oz. of lean beef, fish or chicken and up to 6 tomatoes. Don't forget your soup.

    Day 6: Eat an unlimited amount of vegetables, your soup, and no more than 3 beefsteaks.

    Day 7: Continue to eat an unlimited amount of vegetables and your soup. Add 2 cups of brown rice and unsweetened fruit juice.

Warning

    Always talk to your doctor before beginning any diet program. Do not follow the cabbage soup diet for longer than seven days. Losing weight quickly may cause excitement and you may become tempted to keep doing it. Do not. Following a diet too low in calories and a variety of foods and nutrients can lead to fatigue, depression, hair loss, and other health problems.
