Protein-Enriched Foods

A protein-enriched diet is essential for healthy living. Not only does protein provide energy, but it will also regulate blood sugar. Protein can be found in a variety of foods, such as fish, meat, fruit and pasta. Nuts can also provide a nutritional snack while delivering a good supply of protein.

Fish

    Almost all fish are similar in the amount of high-protein content that they provide. Examples of protein-enriched fish are salmon, bass, catfish, mackerel and sardines.

Seeds

    Sunflower seeds, almonds, peanuts and pistachios are all excellent sources of protein, as well as unsaturated fat and vitamins.

Pasta

    Whole-grain pastas are excellent sources of protein. Examples are spaghetti, linguine and ravioli.

Meat

    Meat can provide high-quality protein. It is always better to look for fresh meats, as the protein content will be higher. Examples are turkey, venison, chicken, lamb and lean beef.

Vegetables

    Many vegetables are packed full of proteins. Some of the highest protein-enriched vegetables include broccoli, cabbage, carrots, celery, cauliflower and corn.

Fruits

    Protein-enriched fruits include watermelons, bananas, apricots, cherries, papaya and kiwi.
