Instructions for a Salton GM-10 Yogurt Maker

Most people are well-acquainted with the health benefits of yogurt. Yogurt provides your body with good bacteria which benefits your digestive system and fortifies you with protein and calcium. However, if you're a big yogurt fan, making your own is something to consider. You can create batches without all the added sugar and preservatives of store versions. Numerous yogurt makers abound in the market, and the Salton GM-10 is a reasonably priced model that's easy to use. Add this to my Recipe Box.

    Place 4 1/3 cup of milk on the stove and allow it to come to a boil. Stick the spoon thermometer in the pot. Once the indicator reaches the "add starter" level, add a large tablespoon of yogurt. Mix the yogurt in well with the milk.

    Carefully pour or spoon the milk and yogurt blend into the five jars that come with your yogurt maker. Secure the lids on each of the jars. Place each jar into a proper place in the yogurt maker.

    Set the lid of the yogurt maker. Plug in the yogurt maker and turn the dial to the 10-hour mark. Once the yogurt is done 10 hours later, place each jar in the refrigerator to cool for three to four hours.
