Try cardio activities that engage the lower body because you will have a greater chance and losing inches from the butt and thighs. According to the American College of Sports Medicine, it is recommended to cardio train five days a week for 30 minutes.

    Focus on your lower body. Target train your butt and hips by doing strength training moves. Squats and lunges are an effective way to lose inches off the butt and hips. Squats and lunges can be done with weights or simply by using your own body weight as resistance. According to the American Council of Exercise, squats primarily target the butt and hips.

    Move in different ways. Adding variety to what kind of exercises you do will also help you get results faster. For example, running will burn more calories than weight training but they both have different results. Try taking group fitness classes or working out with friends when you want to try something new.

    Clean up your diet. Eating a healthy diet will also help to keep weight off the lower body. Choose lean meats, whole grains, fruits and vegetables in order to shed pounds. These foods are rich in vitamins and will help to keep you full longer. The feeling of fullness will also prevent you from over eating other foods.
