Increasing fiber in your daily diet can help you lose weight. Fiber makes you feel more full and satisfied because it takes longer to digest. You can add fiber to your diet slowly by gradually beginning to eat more foods that are high in fiber.

    Choose the right vegetables. Vegetables that are high in fiber include broccoli, potatoes with the skin on, lentils, beans and peas. Ideally, your diet should include 25 to 35 grams of fiber each day.

    Trade white pasta for fiber-loaded pasta. These days, its easy to eat pasta without feeling guilty because there are brands available in every grocery store that add fiber to the product. Some brands even can keep the pasta white and still add fiber; others offer whole wheat pasta. They taste the same.

    Choose brown rice over white rice. Brown rice is better for your fiber-rich diet than white rice, and the fiber in it will help keep you on your diet and on track to losing weight and feeling great.

    Start using a fiber supplement in your daily diet. There are several fiber supplements available at your drugstore that youll never even notice if you add to drinks or most foods. Try 2 tsp. of the powdered supplement in your coffee every morning, and youll add nearly 25 grams of fiber into your diet a week. The fiber is going to keep you feeling full and help you lose weight.
