Kickboxing incorporates basic martial arts into a workout that tones and is very effective for weight loss. It is a great way to build self confidence, get in shape, lose weight and learn basic self defense moves. Kickboxing is available in many gyms as classes, as well as at martial arts studios and on DVD or VHS for home workouts.

Do the workout routinely. Consistency is required to lose weight no matter what type of workout is done. Doing a kickboxing routine 5 days a week will yield positive results in a short time.
2Get at least 60 minutes of aerobic exercise a day. While doing a workout routinely helps, the length of the workout is also important to lose weight. Doing a cardio form of kickboxing for 1 hour a day meets this need. You can also combine kickboxing with other workouts, such as walking, running or aerobics.
3Eat right. Kickboxing is a great exercise, and is definitely a step in the right direction. However, is it also necessary to choose healthy foods that are low in fat and nutritionally functional to lose weight.
4Change things up. If using tapes, alternate between at least two. If taking a kickboxing class, this is not a problem since they tend to change every time. The body produces better results when it is challenged with something new, so doing the exact same workout every day isn't as effective.
