American Motors was in the beginning of its creation as early as 1878-Thomas B. Jeffery, Charles Nash and Joseph L. Hudson created American Motors in 1954. Nash vehicles can be bought for restoration for as little as $1,000 and as high as $10,000. There are classic car auction houses online. Nash became the president of General Motors in 1912. Hudson and Nash cars ceased to exist after 1957.
Instructions
- 1
Take each part of the car to be painted off the frame and paint them separately.
2Fill small imperfections from sanding with a glaze. Scuff each part with a Scotchbrite pad to create a good surface for the paint to bond.
3Spray a primer/surfacer on each part-you will see last minute imperfections that can be smoothed out.
4Install the painted parts back on the body of the car. Adjust the bodywork to even out any edge gaps.
5Start work on the interior-mask off the interior with tape and brown paper-you will also do this to wheel wells and the area under the body.
6Add steel trim and any other designs you fancy-remember that although this is a restoration project, the Nash Touring car should look like it did in 1925.
7Take the tape and brown paper off after 20 minutes.
