How to Stop a Radiator Leak With Bar's Liquid Aluminum

If you're driving down the road and notice that your engine is suddenly overheating, you might have a coolant leak. One of the ways to quickly repair this so that you can get back on the road is to use a radiator repair product, such as Bar's Liquid Aluminum. This chemical is added to the radiator and circulates through the engine. The liquid aluminum seeks out holes and immediately forms a bond to seal them tight, getting you back on the road in no time. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Park your vehicle in a safe location that allows you to work in the engine compartment of the vehicle. Shift the vehicle into park. Remove the key from the ignition. Set the parking brake. Pop the hood. Allow the radiator at the front of the engine to cool to the touch.

    2

Remove the radiator cap by turning it counterclockwise. After about half a turn, press down and continue turning. Pull the radiator cap up and out of the radiator.

    3

Pour Bar's Liquid Aluminum into the radiator. For four-cylinder vehicles without air conditioning, use half a bottle. Otherwise, pour the whole bottle into the radiator. If you cannot pour it into the radiator for some reason, pour it into the radiator overflow container.

    4

Top up the radiator to the recommended fill level with fresh coolant.

    5

    Replace the radiator cap.

    6

Start the vehicle's engine. Allow it to idle for 10 to 20 minutes in order to work the liquid aluminum through the cooling system.
