Geckos are a small breed of lizard which can actually serve a purpose within a household. Geckos feed on insects and spiders, and therefore they can be useful in keeping your property insect-free. Unfortunately, at times, the geckos themselves can become an annoyance, as they can often reach such great numbers that they appear to be taking over in place of the insects. By taking care to gecko-proof your house, you can ensure you don't become overrun with the lizards. Does this Spark an idea?

How to Get Rid of Geckos
- 1
Check the screens in your house for any holes which the geckos may be crawling through, and replace any screens with holes.
2Use caulk to seal any gaps around windows through which the geckos can squeeze.
3Clean out the dark corners of your house, such as cabinets, in which the geckos may be hiding. Geckos are less willing to live in a clean cabinet.
4Check around where you store your garbage cans for signs of geckos, and clean the ground around the garbage. Keep all garbage in sealed cans. The mess attracts insects, which in turn attract geckos.
5Use insecticides or hire an exterminator to kill the bugs living in and around your house. Removing their food source will cause the geckos to leave.
6Place mothballs in corners which geckos might find attractive. The scent of the balls repels the geckos.
7Purchase a house cat. Cats are natural predators and will likely take to hunting the geckos if they persist.
